It gives me great pleasure to announce that on Saturday 18th October three gradings were held at the Sawbridgeworth Dojo before a panel that was presided over by Sensei John Blain 9th Dan and Sensei Tony Kilcullen 8th Dan.
The Panel (of 12) was unanimous on the quality of kihon, pre-arranged kumite and kata. The bunkai was especially impressive from all three candidates and reflected the large amount of research carried out.
For the free-style, the candidates were paired up with very senior SHOTO grades and excellent fighting spirit was shown by all of them.
They are excellent ambassadors for karate
The following grades were awarded:
Nidan to Ian Davey
Nidan to Marie Fortune
Shodan to Dan Stocker-Williams
Well done to Ian, Marie and Dan for performing so well.
