Congratulations to Laurence Wilson on completing the SHOTO Instructor Programme

Laurence Wilson, 2nd Dan, receiving SHOTO Qualified Instructor Certificate from Sensei Robin Welch, 6th Dan

It is my great pleasure to formally announce that Laurence Wilson, 2nd Dan, of Sawbridgeworth club has attained the status of SHOTO Qualified Instructor having completed the SHOTO Instructor Programme.

The purpose of the Programme, which has recently been introduced, is for SHOTO to ensure that its upcoming 1st, 2nd and 3rd Dan Instructors are persons who have not only passed the relevant gradings, but have been assessed as being a competent karate instructor. The Programme therefore, purposefully sets a high bar for karate instruction in order to maintain the very high standards of traditional Shotokan karate of which SHOTO is justly proud.

True to character, Laurence worked conscientiously through the Programme, and can be proud of his achievement; all the more so since he is the first karateka in SHOTO to obtain his certificate. On behalf of the Technical Committee, I would like to congratulate Laurence and to thank him for his ongoing commitment to SHOTO.

Oss, Keep up the good work, Laurence!
